Battened wood floating floor system (2)

Use this clause for interlocking floating floors on battens or battens and cradles for evening out an uneven base, sound or thermal insulation, improved shock absorption, or routing services underfloor. Build ups may vary considerably and may include ribbed floor construction – where battens are laid over, and in-line, with joists with an intermediate resilient layer, and may incorporate plasterboard under the boarding to reduce sound transfer. Voids between battens or joists may be filled or partially filled with insulation such as pugging or mineral wool, etc. which may have sound absorption or thermal properties. A supporting board layer may be necessary where flooring board is not load-bearing.
