Structural glazing is an assembly of frameless glass components as a vertical or near vertical (slope of less than 15° from vertical) non loadbearing building façade. There are three basic methods of support: suspended, point-fixed and stacked. All dead and live loads are transferred via connections to the building structure. Glazing is attached by assembly fixings to glass fins or a secondary support structure and thereby back to the building structure. Assembly fixings are usually stainless steel and allow the glass to move relative to the secondary structure via flexible washers, spring plates or swivel joints. Bolt fixings can project from the external glass surface or be countersunk flush.
