SSQ Matacouta slate is mined exclusively for SSQ from the LaBaña region in North-West Spain. SSQ’s long-term relationship with the Matacouta quarry has led to the production of exceptionally high-quality roofing slate and exclusive distribution rights within the UK. SSQ Matacouta roofing slate has been accepted in the past for use on restoration projects or within conservation areas in Scotland.
In addition to passing SSQ’s own, rigorous quality control tests, SSQ Matacouta Heavy roofing slate has been tested in accordance with EN 12326, carries the CE marking and is classified as ‘W1-T1-S1’.
