Retractable upholstered bench seating has been installed extensively in schools, colleges, universities, theatres and other performing arts centres. The design of the seating system allows maximum seating capacity and an economic solution to seating projects. Continuous upholstered bench seating: 300 mm deep and fully upholstered in selected materials.

• Continuous integral fold-down upholstered backrest: 225 mm deep and fully upholstered in selected materials.
• Automatic row alignment system to each seating unit.
• All decks and aisle steps are covered with a durable and hard-wearing carpet.
• All exposed edges of the carpet are finished with aluminium trim and nosing with a coloured insert to the leading edge of each aisle step.
• Other flooring options are available including vinyl and phenolic ply.
• An optional integral power operation of the seating system is available complete with a detachable control pendant for ease of operation.
• Manually operated units are also available for platforms and seating up to 8 rows high and have a maximum tier width of 6,100 mm.
• Demountable rails are available for front, rear and side edges. Demountable side curtains are also available.
• Self-storing rails, for side edges only, allow for ease of operation and storage.
• Aisle lighting can be incorporated into our platforms.
• Retractable units can either be Wall/Floor fixed or set into a recessed area.
• Unit can be portable and also be truncated to view over barriers or handrails. 
• Units can be joined together to form larger banks of unlimited seating length. These types of banks must be electronically operated.
• For an upholstered bench a minimum of 450 mm is allowed for each person.
• All SIS retractable units comply with BS EN 1090-1:2009 +A1:2011 & BS EN 1090-2:2018 – Execution of Steel Structures and Aluminium Structures.
• SIS has CHAS Certification (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) – SSISP.
