This clause deals with joint sealants identified (or defined by context) in system outline clauses as silicone construction joint sealants (as opposed to silicone glazing sealants). Silicone sealants are single pack systems comprising fillers pre-dispersed in a silicone binder. The materials are of high viscosity and are dispensed by gun into the gap to be sealed. Fire retardant intumescent acrylic sealants are available.
