Pipe collars (4)

Pipe collars contain an intumescent compound which expands on exposure to fire, rapidly exerting pressure upon the pipe or trunking and strangling the cross-section, which has generally softened due to heating. Some pipe collars incorporate a mechanical device that achieves this effect; these types may or may not include an intumescent compound.
