Geosynthetics are a family of ground engineering products for embedding in layers of soil or fill. They are manufactured from polyamide, polyester, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene and polyethylene. A small number of biodegradable products are also available in materials such as jute, coir and textiles for erosion control.
