Lewis Dovetail Metal Deck concrete composite acoustic floor installed over timber joists. The floor build-up has a number of variables for achieving acoustic results.
The Fire 2 detail achieves 60 minutes of fire resistance within timber floors. These are typically existing timber floors within a renovation or conversion to apartments where the existing wooden floorboards are retained. Floorboards are often retained to maintain diaphragm action to the building or where they are required to be retained under listed building status.

This floor detail includes a single 12.5 mm plasterboard, mounted on a timber batten attached to the solid timber joists. Floor boards are above the joists with the Lewis mineral wool resilient strips placed above the joist, then the Lewis Deck and a total depth of 50 mm of concrete or screed installed on the top.

Under floor heating can also be installed. Larger timber joists than Fire 1 for longer spans. Up to 120 mins resistance can be achieved
