A concrete acoustic masonry block, engineered to provide acoustic absorption.
Application
Suitable for use in the construction of external and internal loadbearing and non-loadbearing walls, including the inner and outer leaves of cavity walls, party walls, partition walls and boundary walls. Can also be used as reinforced masonry walls through incorporation of bed joint reinforcement. Other applications include:
- Plant rooms.
- Classrooms.
- Lecture theatres.

- Swimming pools.
- Arenas.
- Factories.
Description
Slotted face acoustic masonry blocks with enhanced acoustic properties, that are achieved through the use of Helmholtz resonating chambers. They have been developed to reduce sound reverberation in both internal and external applications, promoting clarity to speech or music and reducing overall noise levels.
Manufactured from cement, porous aggregates (65% recycled secondary aggregate content), an integral waterproofing and colour pigment.

- Robust and can withstand frequent impact.
- Available in a variety of colours.

- Fire-resistant and will not contribute to the spread of flame.
- Loadbearing capacity.
- Waterproof, and will retain a fresh, clean appearance.
- Efflorescence-free.
- When used to construct the internal leaf of the cavity wall of a building, this product adds to the overall airtightness, improving the thermal efficiency and contributing to the minimization of energy use.
- A 1:1:6 cement:lime:sand mortar is suitable for use with this product.
- CE-marked and manufactured in accordance with BS EN 771-3, BS 5628-1, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Can be used in conjunction with other Colinwell products, including Acousta Tex.
