Acrylic adhesives are often used to bond metals, ceramics, plastics (e.g. PVC and vinyl floor coverings), carpet and wood. They generally create very rapidly curing, high-strength bonds with high ‘initial tack’ and long-term durability of bond. Some gap-filling adhesives also have an acrylic base, particularly where weather-resistance is required. Some acrylic adhesives may be an irritant to skin, eyes and respiratory systems.
