Wood floating floor system (8)

Use this clause for floating floors where boards are held together using one of the following: adhesive; concealed clips to the base of the boards; locking joint, integral to the board. The use of adhesive, clips or integral locking for jointing removes the need to mechanically fix the floor layer, and is useful where vapour control is important or minimizing sound transfer is a consideration or movement must be accommodated; clips and integral locking are frequently used in build ups over underfloor heating. Dry screeds boards may also be used in the floor build up to form a dense sound-absorbing layer, and are appropriate for use over underfloor heating or cooling.
