May be an opening or a dead light and may be inclined or vertical, with instances of horizontal use depending on ability to drain. May allow for smoke release. Roof ventilator: Frequently used for smoke and heat release. Includes projecting ventilators which may act as stack ventilators and/ or fresh air inlets, with sophisticated models providing supply and extract air simultaneously.
