What are shared parameters?

Shared parameters are parameters that you can add to families or projects and then share with other families and projects. You can add specific data that has not been predefined in the family file or the project template.

If you create a shared parameter and add it to the family categories, you can then create a schedule with these categories. In Revit® this is called a multi-category schedule.

parameters

The NBS BIM Object Shared Parameters have been developed in line with the NBS BIM Object Standard. This allows the designer to create BIM objects that will work in tandem with the NBS National BIM Library BIM objects.

By using the NBS BIM Object Shared Parameters the designer will gain consistency when scheduling and co-ordinating information.

The NBS BIM Object Shared Parameters file contains properties relative to the following property groups:

  • NBS_General
  • COBie
  • All properties associated with the IFC 2x3 and IFC 4 schemas
  • NBS_Data
  • Parametrics
  • Materials
