Waterproofing admixture (1)

Waterproofing admixture (also referred to as water resisting admixture) is used as an aid to prevent water 'bleed' from fresh mortar, as a water reducer to inhibit passage of salts and as a mortar 'improver' for pebble dashing or roughcast finishes. It can also provide long term protection in cementitious mortar by reducing both permeability and absorption. Water retaining admixtures reduce the capillary absorption of hardened concrete and improve the water resistance properties. Water resisting admixtures reduce the capillary absorption of water in hardened concrete.
